I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Independence Day! Whether you spent quality time with family and friends, feasted at a barbecue, baked in the scorching sun by the pool or at the beach, attended a traditional fireworks show, or just relaxed and enjoyed this meaningful holiday, I trust that the day was enjoyable for all.
Given the July 4 holiday, we were dark last Tuesday. As such, this coming Tuesday will be our first meeting of the new Rotary year. Our very own President-Elect Darcy McNaboe will be our speaker. As President-Elect, Darcy also serves as our Program Chair, which is one of our most challenging Board assignments in our Club. Darcy will be working diligently to secure relevant and interesting guest speakers for our meetings this year. However, she needs the help of all Club members to provide ideas and suggestions to ensure that the program calendar is meaningful for everyone. Please give some thought regarding what you would like to see on this year’s program calendar and please be prepared to share your ideas during Tuesday’s meeting so we can hit the ground running!
As I mentioned in last week’s Orange Peal message, we will be scheduling our annual Club Assembly in the coming weeks. This will be a vital meeting where we discuss and set our goals and objectives for the new Rotary year. I encourage everyone to attend and make your voice heard so we can make this a great year!
President, Brian Pellis 2023-2024
