Councilwoman Kim Knauss – San Bernardino City Council, Ward 5
Councilwoman Kim Knauss represents San Bernardino’s Fifth Ward, having taken office on December 18, 2024, after winning the November 2024 general election. Her leadership is rooted in a lifelong connection to San Bernardino and a deep commitment to strengthening neighborhoods, supporting families, and elevating community pride.
A San Bernardino native, Knauss attended local schools from childhood through college, giving her a firsthand understanding of the city’s challenges and its potential. Before joining the City Council, she served as the Senior Field Representative for the district’s San Bernardino County Supervisor, where she gained extensive experience navigating municipal processes, legislative issues, and interagency collaboration.
Knauss has been widely recognized for her hands‑on approach to community improvement. She played a key role in preserving the Verdemont Community Center, revitalizing movie nights in local parks, and launching SB Foodfest, the city’s first monthly food festival supporting small businesses. She has also led efforts to restore neglected areas of the city, often working directly alongside residents to clean, beautify, and re‑energize public spaces.
Her civic leadership is matched by her dedication to family. She is a wife and mother of two, and her husband serves as a U.S. Air Force Reservist—a source of pride that fuels her commitment to public service and community well‑being.
Today, as a member of the San Bernardino City Council, Kim Knauss continues to champion neighborhood revitalization, public safety partnerships, and opportunities that uplift families and local businesses. Her work reflects a belief that San Bernardino’s future is built through collaboration, service, and a shared vision for a stronger community.
